LONDON, UK – Two Mines students finished seventh out of 26 teams at the 2017 Energy Trading Challenge in London. The event took place Feb. 24-25 at ESCP London campus. Christopher Hapchuk and Alexander Restrepo are dual degree students studying Mineral and Energy Economics in the Division of Economics and Business at Mines, and Petroleum Economics and Management at the French Institute of Petroleum.

This was the first year of the challenge, developed by a partnership between ESCP Europe and Energy Trading and Education consultants, Smart Global.  The competition gave students the opportunity to participate in two 8-hour days of trading scenarios representing two full months in the energy industry.  Students also had the chance to interact and learn from experienced industry professionals.
